Week 10: 26/03 - 01/04
Hiking
I've mentioned before that we were planning on taking the boy on a slightly more adventurous hike and we did that last weekend. We went to Lathkill Dale which is a limestone area of the Peak. While more rural than daisy nook, nothing too serious. The route was an out and back with a rough time estimate of 3 hours. The weather was good; dry and sunny with increasing wind throughout the day.
First half of the walk was bliss. The boy was sleeping, Tee and I were enjoying the nature, we spotted a higher route we could take back. As we're heading up the hill the boy looks a little worse for wear. We come to the conclusion that he's over heating.
You spend a lot time making sure he's not too cold. You have the heating on all the time. You're checking on him in the pram all the time. In the UK, it's hard to think he would ever get too hot but he did. We took off one of his layers, we gave him some milk, and we ditched the trail in search of a campsite to get a lift back to the car.
The boy was fine after the break and has fully recovered. Super scary.

Swimming
It was mothers day this weekend and mother's wish was to go swimming. So we bought him a little wetsuit and went off to the baths.
He seemed to enjoy it. He didn't cry or smile, he was taking it all in though. He didn't get too cold (or too hot) which was my concern. Tee is now thinking about signing him up for swimming lessons. Boy did he sleep after. He fell asleep in the changing room and stayed sleeping while being transferred into the car seat, then out of the car seat and into a pram.

Skatepark
The boys been hanging out at the skatepark a lot recently. I hear what you're saying "but isn't that where teenagers break stuff and smoke weed". Wind it in Karen. They have been putting on an event to give a time to mums who want to skate but have kids, so it's more of a kids get together.
