Week 7: 05/03 - 11/03

Welsh Cousins

We went back to my parent house and introduced Baby Roland to all his cousins. While apprehensive to begin with, they each had a turn holding him.

Figuring out how old he’ll be when they’re 18 (youngest will be 18 when he’s 11) gives me faith that they won’t be able to get him in trouble.

The trip was very successful. It's a 2 hour drive and we were worried it would take longer with lots of stop and lots of crying. But he slept most of it and had a quick feed in the middle. It gave us faith that we can get back to adventuring in the van soon. However the amount of stuff you need to take is wild. I was packing his bag, picked up 5 changes of clothes, showed Tee and said "that's enough right?". She thought we should take 10. In 24 hours we changed him 7 times.

Play time with JJ and Sunny

At Auntie Zee’s he had a fun little play date with JJ and Sunny. They were reading him books and showing him how to play. He’ll be 13 when JJ is 18, so there’s a little more danger for trouble there.

Work trip

I had to go down to London on Thursday. I could make it there and back in a day but it was the longest I was away from him. I missed him so much that I went through all my pictures of him and changed my wallpaper to this.

Developments

He's really really close to smiling. Very almost broke out into a laugh yesterday. When you catch him smiling at something, you can't help but repeat it to try and get him to do it again. You did it over and over and over again until it has the reverse effect and he screams at you. Worth it for those smiles though.

Other than screaming, farting, and burping; he's got a new sound. I would say it's the precursor to babbling. Very cute and a much needed break from screaming, farting and burping.

He pissed on me before his bath. So I took a picture of him fully naked. I'll break that out to embarrass him later down the line.
