Week 33: 03/09 - 09/09
What’s on the menu
Paper. The boy ate paper this week. It was a stressful time packing for a weekend in Manchester, both mum and dad running around finding bits and bobs to put into the suitcase. All the while, boy was sat on the landing quietly munching a piece of paper. I'm sure he'll eat much worse in time.
He also had some "melty sticks". Not my words, take that up with Aldi's marketing department. We had been warned about giving such "treats" to kids as when it comes to them making decisions about what they want to eat, they will only pick these. He's a bit young for decisions and will eat what he's handed so we took the convenient option.
Manchester weekend
We took the boy back to his old ends this weekend. We were very grateful to be invited to Tom and Sophie Potter's wedding. We wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you in Aberscoch soon. Thank you, again. We all had such a good time. Roland had a blast seeing all the familiar faces. Showing everyone how to use a hammer. And trying to get involved with the vows. And no one noticed the massive vom on my trousers (Roland's vom).

We made a weekend out of this trip to catch up with other friends. We spent some time hanging out Zee, her two boys, and the cat. The boys were generous enough to trade toys for chocolates and introduce Roland to the cat. We also caught up with the uncles Ethan and Juraj. They introduced Roland to their dog Jules (miniature pincher) who was confused as to why someone had bought a miniature human to their home. And a flying visit to River and his parents; Claire and Stu. The two tired babies decided to show their tiredness in polar opposite ways. Roland; kicking and screaming. River; just falling asleep.

Thank you all for your hospitality and we hope to repay when the spare room is finished.
Developments
We will often play music to the boy. Tee's choice of songs is a playlist named "baby songs that aren't annoying". I prefer to play him The Chats as it was officially the first band we played to him in the belly and unofficially his favourite band. For a while, the music would calm him down, snapping him out of a meltdown, or just taking his mind of something annoying. But now he's started to dance to the music. And when I say dance I mean it in the loosest sense of the word. He will be sit up and rock back and fourth. At first we thought he was testing his balance, trying to find the point at which he will fall over. But now he's consistently doing it when music is playing.
