Week 3: 05/02 - 11/02
Walks outside
We're starting to settle into a rhythm now as a family. And one of those beats is going for a walk. As a previously active family, but still very much recovering family, getting out and about around the canal is a slice of our old life. He sleeps pretty well in his pram too so it's a win win.

Sleeping
I (Dad) have got gud at getting him off to sleep. It's a lot of walking back and fourth, and shushing but a selfless act when the little man can't reliably get himself off to sleep. Location seems important to him as well; in your arms, on the boob, or in the carrier are his preferred places but I've got sneaky tekkers.
After he's fast asleep in the carrier I will get him out, wrap him like a burrito, and put him in the crib (previously, somewhere he refused to sleep).

Mum has the best job though which is cuddling while sleeping. However, not the best idea to let him sleep from 5pm till 9pm and then expect him to go to sleep while we try and sleep. Lesson learnt.

Visitors
Uncles Ethan and Jay
Tipping the scales in favour of the number of uncles to aunties; his uncle duo Ethan and Jay came to visit. Gifts for Roland included a sweet little tiger hat and pants combo, and a hand made teddy (courtesy of Ethan's mum)! Then some lovely homemade butter and sourdough for us as well.

Octopus Auntie Trio
Elsa, Peg, and Charlotte (Tee's 🐙 work friends) came over to meet the boy but mostly to catch Tee up on work drama. Some people got fired. Some people are annoying. Marcus is doing okay.
Uncle Ben and Auntie Shanna
Came baring an abundance of nappies and wet wipes al a Costco. Ben thought 80 nappies would last this lads life time, Shanna knew it would only last a week. In terms of confidence holding the boy, Ben gets A+. Stood up, swaying and bouncing, baby talk. Shanna was in the firing line during a nappy change.

First story time
I thought I would have a quick story time in the morning while Mum was catching up on some sleep. I felt bad taking first story time away from mum but at the same time I wasn't sleeping and she was so it's swings and roundabouts.
Between pooping his pants and boobing, all he does is sleep so when he's awake we try and savour those moments and play as much as we can. I had to take the opportunity and read him his first book.
