Week 28: 30/07 - 05/08
What's on the menu
We've been giving Roland a solid meal each day now. Keeping it to one vegetable per two days. After we introduced him to 3 vegetables, we combined them into a meal for him. He had beetroot, courgette and broccoli.

He's also had mash potato as well. Probably his favourite. Or is it that he's understanding solid food a bit more? It's hard to tell. While broccoli went everywhere in the kitchen, mash potato went everywhere on him. Up his nose, in his ears. And then it dries on hard like crusty mud.

Big Boy Bed
Roland has been in the same two beds since he was a baby baby. He's had a moses basket in the living room and a next to me cot in the bedroom. When he was younger, it was hard to imagine he would outgrow these but sure enough the day has come. He still fits (just) but he now rolls onto his side and front in his sleep. He wasn't able to do this in the cots and it would wake him up because he gets stuck on the walls. So we got him a new bed. His room is still my temporary office so for now it's in our bedroom.

Just for a side by side: February to June

Sitting up
He's been able to sit up for a while now. He still can't get into the position on his own, but if you plonk him on his butt he'll stay there for a while. He's got the balance, you can see him wobbling and self correcting. But you need to be with him as he doesn't have it 100%. I had my first "oh shit he's really growing up" moment though. When he was sat on his butt and reached out to grab a toy. Such a simple movement but made me realise soon he won't need me to pass him toys. He will be able to get them under his own steam.

Weekends on the beach
When people ask "Why did you move from Manchester?" this is the reason. So the boy can grow up with nature on his door step. I hope as he grows up he can appreciate it as much as we do.
