North Wales Socials

Roland (or should I say mum) has been desperate for a social life. Thankfully, the villages round here put on free baby events. The problem, they're not all walk-able. On Monday he went for a baby massage in the neighboring village Penmeanmawr, Wednesday is a baby class in Llandudno, and Friday there is another session at the local primary school here in Llanfairfechan. Apparently the difference between these and the ones back in Manchester is that these events have a lot of mums. And there's no rush to leave at the end. All in all, a net positive experience for everyone. Roland gets a day out, Mum gets some social time, Dad gets some peace and quiet.

Backyard hiking

After Roland's first hiking experience we have been nervous about going out again. I think it was around week 7 or 8 that we took him out and we haven't been on anything similar since. There are number of trails we can take close to home so it was an easy way to get back into it. We headed out on a quick loop while he was awake and made it back before his next nap. It was lovely to get out into the hills again, and even better we didn't need to drive.

Sunday lunch

Tee was craving the cauliflower curry pasty they sell at Llyn Ogwen and Betws y Coed so we decided to head over there for a day out. Side quest; there's an Alpkit in Betws y Coed. You can see a few hills out of our windows and I had been showing Roland and asking "Can you to see the mountains?". They're more like hills but I'm sure they're impressive for him. The Ogwen valley is another world though. While it's hard to tell what he thinks about something, or if he even comprehends it, I'm excited to take him around there one day.
