Week 23: 25/06 - 01/07
He's only gone and bloody done it
Since Roland first rolled from front to back we have been trying to teach him to roll from back to front. It's a real struggle when his preferred position is on his back. Last week we noticed him really trying to get onto his front but failing at the last hurdle, the inside arm. It would get stuck underneath and push him back onto his back.
After he did it one time, we were so proud. I was worried he wouldn't do it again but he did it back to back three times. Now it's all the time! You'll put him down, leave the room, come back and he's flipped over.
Next step is crawling which is an even bigger struggle than rolling over. He has the right idea with his feet but he's currently dragging his face on the floor as he pushes with his feet. Boys got zero upper body strength.

First week in Wales
The boys been out and about and blessed with countryside walks. He's getting used to the rough terrain but the pram is finally it's natural habitat. He will lie in bed and stare intently out the window and the blowing trees. I show him the view from our living room window every morning. Telling him that this is where we live now ("Look, Simba"). We're not sure if he understands yet but we hope that he loves it here as much as we do. He wasn't happy about going to the beach but Mum was. Oh well, we'll try again another time.

Before it's too late
Long time parents will tell you to savor the moments because before you know it, it'll all be gone. And while we often look back at pictures of him as a small baby, not many moments are different. Sure, it's more intense now his wake windows are longer but it's been stable for a while. However, we think this was the last time he'll fit in his star suit.
